Morally Clueless

Texas has now passed a law effectively banning abortions after the detection of a fetal heartbeat.

That is great Pro Life news, and it gets better when we hear that other states are planning to follow this trend. Thanks be to God.

On the other hand, I was stunned when I heard this woman on the ABC World News broadcast of September 2, 2021 complain about how "cruel it is to make women drive 600 miles for a 5-10 minute medical procedure - in the middle of a pandemic."

ABC World News Report on the New Texas Pro-Life Law

Advance to the 2:18 minute mark in the video to hear this woman's complaint.

Because, after all, that's the cruel part in getting an abortion, the inconvenience of being forced to drive out of state to commit murder.

Nancy Pelosi Is A Catholic?

A Catholic. Really?

When recently asked if she hated Donald Trump this was her reply, as reported by CNN.com December 6 2019:

"I think this President is a coward when it comes to helping our kids who are afraid of gun violence," she said. "I think that he is cruel when he doesn't deal with helping our Dreamers, of which we are very proud of. I think he is in denial about the climate crisis. However, that's about the election."
"This," she said, tapping hard on the podium, "is about the Constitution of the United States and the facts that lead to the President's violation of his oath of office. And as a Catholic, I resent your using the word 'hate' in a sentence that addresses me. I don't hate anyone."
How dare she use her "Catholicism" in defense of any of her public positions, and especially one so politically motivated! This, let's recall is the same Democrat leader who is in Planned Parenthood's back pocket, who dares to advocate (as a Catholic) the abortion of pre-borns.

Pelosi doesnt hate anyone? What about the pre-born that she hates enough to allow to be killed? What about the women she hates enough to scar for the rest of their lives by allowing laws where their babies can be killed right before their eyes? What about the men who fathered these children and have no say into whether they live or die?

No, she may not hate Donald Trump, after all, why would she? It would be like hating one's brother, since they are both cut from the same political cloth. But can she stand on her Catholicism as a reason? I don't think so. IN fact, many Catholics (those who understand their faith) believe that politicians like Pelosi should be excommunicated for expressing their public views contary to Catholic doctrine.

I pray for Pelosi's conversion of heart, for her to some day recognize the dignity and right-to-life of the pre-born and the teens who feel they can only turn to Planned Parenthood's abortion mills as a way out of their situation, and for her lack of respect for the family, the backbone of society.

Is Abortion Really Healthcare?

Image result for planned parenthood

Yeah, they're all about offering care. "No matter what."

As I watched yet another television commercial promoting some medication, it occurred to me that if abortion was truly healthcare for women, they would be promoting that service everywhere!

Yet, when was the last time you saw a tv commercial promoting the health benefits of abortion? Or heard such a commercial on the radio?

No, advertising of this so-called "pro-women's" health care don't exist away from the internet or on billboards.

Maybe we should point this discrepancy out to our misguided brothers and sisters who believe Planned Parenthood (and the culture of death's) lie about this abominable procedure.

Mother's Day 2014

Thanks For Being Born, Mom
Our son recently gave this card to his mother (my wife) for her birthday. Both she and I immediately saw beyond the humor to the implicit pro-life message: Thanks for being born, because otherwise I wouldn't exist.

The reason I mention this birthday card in the context of Mother's Day is that I feel this sentiment gets right to the central problem of the so-called "pro-choice" position on abortion, namely; people's mistaken belief (both men and women, because women aren't alone in making these decisions) thinking that, once having been given the gift of existence they feel that they can then decide whether their children should or should not receive the same gift. Besides being ignorant of several commandments (#5 most notably), and ignoring the growing body of evidence showing that abortions cause cancer, not to mention the simple humanity of loving one's offspring, the proponents of abortion actually believe that it is in their power to decide the fate of another human being!

Our culture has been driven so far away from God, and of our partaking of the Divine, that we are now actively committing genocide! It isn't enough for an individual to want to end their own life, we have been led to believe that we have the "right" to end other lives as well, even though we ourselves have been extended this right to life! How dare we be so selfish with this precious gift.

Over 56 million children have been aborted in the US since Roe v Wade

On a related topic, the issue of "pro-choice" versus "pro-life" is truly baffling to most Catholics/Christians. We already know that God gave us complete freedom to choose our actions. No Christian has ever denied the fact that women who kill their children are exercising a choice. Of course they are, but abortionists and their clients, however, are accountable for that choice, as everyone is for all the choices we make every day of our lives; those choices that either lead us closer to God, or the ones where we spurn His love and graces for our selfish needs.

This Mother's Day I will once again be supporting the efforts of the Culture of Life by purchasing some white roses after Mass. I will take a moment to thank God for the gift of my life, and I will thank my (deceased) parents for upholding the dignity of life, and I will pray for an end to the continued pain caused by our culture of death and its disregard for life, which is sacred from conception to natural death.

Happy Mother's Day to Our Blessed Mother Mary, who suffered with her Son on the Cross, and also to the mothers in my life: to my wife, my mother-in-law, my godmother, my mother, my adopted brother's biological mother, and the rest of the moms out there. On behalf of your physical and spiritual children, I thank you for loving enough to bring us life.
